TOWN COUNCIL MEETINGS

For the health and safety of staff and citizens in light of the surge in COVID-19 cases, all Town of Burns Harbor board and commission meetings held in December 2020 will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams. The link to participate in the meetings will be posted on www.burnsharbor-in.gov in advance of each meeting.

CARRIAGE RIDES

Carriage rides will begin at the gazebo on Saturday, December 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Due to COVID-19, blankets will not be provided. Please bring your own blankets. Sign up for your preferred time slot by contacting Melissa Hamilton at 219.916.0634 by Friday, December 11. Tips for the driver are appreciated.

DECK THE VILLAGE: HOLIDAY HOME DECORATING CONTEST

Is your house the most festive? Homes will be judged around 4:30 p.m. in the categories of Traditional and Griswold. There will be awards for first, second, and third place for both categories.

The location will be at the Oudman’s garage at 321 Clifford Way. Come around the corner of Harbor Way to enter between the house and the garage.

If you are interested in serving on a board or commission, please fill out an application today. Seats are open on the following boards or commissions:

  • Two Plan Commission seats

    • 1 seat, 4-year term, Democrat or Independent

    • 1 seat, 2-year term, Republican or Independent

  • One Park Board seat

    • 4-year term, any party

  • One Sanitary Board seat

    • 3-year term, no party affiliation

  • One Stormwater Board seat

    • 3-year term, no party affiliation

  • Five Redevelopment Commission seats

    • 1-year term, no party affiliation

You can obtain an application online by visiting www.burnsharbor-in.gov and clicking on Quick Links near the top right of the home page and then selecting Board/Commission Application.

Your completed application should be emailed to Clerk-Treasurer Jane Jordan, 1240 N. Boo Road, Burns Harbor, IN 46304.
